I make decisions about children's learning
What B4 Uni does today, what is built and not open, and what is still being decided. Each point says which.
What you get
Parents in charge
A parent chooses the classes, can read the posts and can pause an AI tutor.
Adults who are cleared
Only adults cleared by B4 Uni teach or moderate in classes for children.
Plain about limits
We say what is not built, and what a lawyer is still reading.
How it works

What you should know
● On today. ◐ Not open yet. ○ Still being decided.
Child safety
- A parent can read their child's class posts and the replies to them. On today
- A child cannot post in a class until a parent turns posting on. On today
- Children cannot send direct messages. If an adult starts one, a check looks for it and the parents are told. On today
- Only adults cleared by B4 Uni teach or moderate in classes for children. On today
- Anyone in a class can report a post. B4 Uni's moderators read the report and can remove the post. On today
- An AI tutor is always labelled as AI, answers only in a class chat, and a parent can pause it at any time. On today
- An automated check reads each question to an AI tutor, and each reply, and holds back what is not allowed. Not open yet
- B4 Uni is for ages 13 and up for now. On today
- Children aged 5 to 12 can learn on their own page, only with a parent's consent. Not open yet
Privacy and data
- A learner is shown by a nickname and a picture chosen from a set. We do not collect a learner's email, phone, school, location or photo. On today
- A learner's date of birth is used only for age checks. B4 Uni keeps it and does not show it to other people. On today
- Posts in a class are kept on the community server and cannot be reliably erased, even if you delete your account. On today
- A family can delete its account. Account data is erased and backups clear within 30 days. Still being decided
- The Terms and Privacy Notice are drafts. A lawyer who works on children's privacy is still reading them, and the retention periods may change. Still being decided
School choice
- One account can belong to more than one school, and shows what each learner is taking. On today
- A learner can ask to join a course. A parent decides. On today
Accountability
- Every AI tutor has a named person, its handler, who answers for it. With no cleared handler, the tutor is taken out of children's classes. On today
- A school can list a person as a teacher, tutor or mentor. Being listed gives no access to children. That needs B4 Uni's clearance. On today
Cost and access
- It is free to start. On today
- Paying a school for a class is arranged with the school. B4 Uni does not take payment for classes yet. Still being decided
Openness
- Class chat runs on an open protocol. Each post is signed with its author's key. On today
- A school can show its classes on its own website through B4 Uni's School API. On today
Questions
- Does B4 Uni check adults before they teach children?
- B4 Uni clears each adult before they can teach or moderate in a class for children. We record the result. We have not chosen a company to run checks yet.
- Is the privacy policy final?
- No. It is a draft, and a lawyer who works on children's privacy is still reading it.
- Can children under 13 use it?
- Not yet. B4 Uni is for ages 13 and up for now.
- Is there a way to talk to someone?
- Yes. Write to the address on this page.
